Launched in March, 2021, the DJI FPV is a new type of drone. To be more specific, it’s a hybrid of the familiar GPS-enabled camera drone that we’re familiar with around here, blended with the raw power and excitement of a racing drone. What’s new is the optional flight mode that makes the quadcopter operate more like an RC airplane. It’s a thrill to fly, so let’s see what we can do to extend your time in the air with these DJI FPV accessories.
The ready-to-fly kit starts at $1299. There’s a Fly More kit for $299, and then the typical smattering of parts, tools and accessories that we’ve come to expect from a DJI product.
Why trust Drone Rush?
I’ve been a fan of flight since a young age; while I’ve had few opportunities at the helm of manned aircraft, the hours on my fleet of drones continue to grow. I enjoy putting cameras into the sky, silky smooth aerial imagery makes me happy. My goal is to help all pilots enjoy flight legally and safely.
DJI FPV Fly More kit
The Fly More kit for the DJI FPV is a little less feature rich than the Fly more kits for other DJI drones. This time around, you get two batteries, and a charging hub. The list may be short, but the value is there with about 20% savings over buying the batteries and charger separately. The DJI FPV Fly More kit is $299 on the Amazon.
DJI FPV batteries
If you do not want the full Fly More kit, you can grab DJI FPV batteries for $148 on Amazon.
DJI FPV Propellers
If you need to know why propellers are on this list, you may be a new pilot, and you might consider reading our deeper-dive into propellers here. The three-blade, quick release DJI FPV propellers are $15 per pair.
DJI Motion Controller
The Motion Controller is, perhaps, the coolest accessory you can pick up for your DJI FPV drone. This one-handed remote is not only a fun new way to fly, it totally changes the way you fly, creating a fun new experience for pilots. Check out the DJI Motion Controller for $199. Before you ask, the Motion Controller only works with the DJI FPV drone at launch, perhaps more drones will be added in the future.
microSD card
I don’t have to explain this one, do I? Cameras need SD cards to store data. Your Mini 2 uses the microSD card format. We like the Samsung cards, DJI promotes Sandisk.
DJI FPV Goggles V2
The DJI FPV drome comes with a DJI FPV Goggles V2 headset, but did you know that you can connect up to 8 headsets to one drone? That’s right, share the flight experience with your family and friends. The DJI FPV Goggles V2 run $569.
DJI FPV propeller guards
If you are looking to truly ease into the next level of drone flight skills, perhaps you want to protect your drone a little more, and the world around your drone. Put a leash on the DJI FPV with a set of propeller guards for $25 from DJI.
DJI FPV replacement parts
Like it or not, crashes happen. That’s particularly true of racing drones. If you happen to take a tumble with your DJI FPV, DJI has some tidbits and do-dads available to facilitate that repair. We hope you don’t need them, but:

Don’t forget: DJI Care Refresh, now with Flyaway protection
Your DJI drone comes with a standard warranty, but you can get more. DJI Care Refresh is offered in different tiers, with coverage including express repairs, replacements, upgraded customer support, and more. Added in January 2021, Flyaway coverage. We have to remind you that your job as a pilot is to ensure a safe flight, including avoiding situations where a flyaway is possible. Of course, things happen, so DJI has you covered.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use any old DJI accessories with the new FPV?
Generic accessories almost always work across drones, things like bags and landing pads are straight-forward enough. The DJI FPV battery uses a new charger connector, but the Goggles and remotes all charge via USB Type-C. Officially, no older remotes work with the FPV, and the newer remotes do not work with the older drones. Propellers absolutely will not work across drones here either. The FPV Goggles V2 will work with a few other DJI products.
Why are the parts and accessories so expensive on Amazon?
This is just an inventory thing in the early days of the product. If you are reading this a few months after launch and the prices are still high, then some concern is warranted.
Should I get DJI Care Refresh extended drone warranty?
This is always a personal decision. You get the standard warranty when you buy the drone brand new from an official retailer, so you’ve got at least one year of coverage for typical mechanical failures. Unlike the Mavic drones, accident coverage is a real concern with the DJI FPV. This machine is far more likely to act in a way that many pilots cannot keep up with, resulting in some plastic and metal bits scattering across the ground. As you’ve seen above, replacements parts are at the ready, but maybe you do want DJI Care Refresh, just in case.
